Abstract
We discuss motivations for modifying gravity, review the most typical extensions of Einstein-Hilbert gravity, including modifications of the purely geometric sector, various models of scalar-tensor and vector-tensor gravities (including the problem of Lorentz symmetry breaking in gravity), and nonlocal gravity. We present the most important results obtained within these extensions, including the cosmological context.
