Gabriele Balbi is Associate Professor in media studies at USI Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. He is director of the Bachelor in Communication, director of the China Media Observatory, chair of the ECREA Communication History Section and vice chair of the ICA Communication History Division. His research revolves around media and communication in historical and long-term perspective and, on these topics, he has published about 100 scientific publications, like monographies, articles in relevant academic journals, and book chapters.
