The Art and Industry of Narration: from Literature to Cinema and TV is a curriculum of the graduate programme in Lingue, letterature e culture straniere, entirely taught in English.

The course aims to give students fundamental basic professional skills for jobs related with the creation, editing, publication, distribution, of narrative content in its various forms: novels, comics, animation, TV series, cinema, not excluding other forms that use story-telling as a tool of communication. The scientific but also professional quality of the courses is guaranteed by a teaching staff whose excellence in research is accompanied by a long high-level experience in journalism, editing, publishing, novel writing, screenwriting - the very subjects taught in classes. Special guests and key-note speakers who are invited every year to share their working experience with students have included, in the past few years, novelist and screenwriter David Nicholls, writer Eshkol Nevo, Sir Ivor Roberts (former UK Ambassador and President of Trinity College, Oxford), Marco Varvello (News Correspondent - Bureau Chief in London, RAI Italian TV).

The course also has a special focus on the creation of contents for kids and on animation. In 2023, the course has signed an agreement with the Association of production companies of animation in Italy (CartoonItalia), which has recognized the quality of its teaching. The agreement intends to foster internships for students, as well as other kinds of collaborations with the programme.
