Women in Finance

To enhance the talent and female leadership of female students

   

The Programme aims to support the next generation of female leaders and promote gender equality in the world of finance.

"Women in Finance Program" will provide female students with specific and concrete support to plan their professional development, to foster the development of their future career, identifying the right opportunities to improve their positioning in the world of work. The Programme also includes training modules on gender enhancement, which are also open to Faculty students.

Initiatives

Offer of scholarships, aimed at concrete support for academic training (scholarships from 2,000 to 5,000 euros). The scholarships will be aimed at female students -  undergraduate, graduate and prospects - strongly motivated to become future leaders and will cover part of the university costs. Interested companies will agree on the requirements for participation in the calls for scholarships with the relevant offices of Università Cattolica.

Reward for carrying out an internship aimed at writing the thesis on topics proposed by companies. The thesis topic must be agreed upon by the supervisor.

Walking women through a path of self-knowledge, allowing them to realise their feminine potential and express leadership to achieve the desired goals in the personal, private, and professional spheres. Training and orientation course, divided into several modules, aimed at developing technical and/or transversal skills. The programme could include training modules focusing on topics such as identifying one's goals, cross-cultural communication, developing flexibility and self-esteem, managing a team, and developing sustainable and global leadership.

Training modules, also open to students of the Faculty, on topics such as: education to differences to generate talents, gender socialization, enhancement of gender interactions.

Involvement in a working group on a particularly innovative project. The activity carried out will be recognised as a curricular internship.

Involvement observing a professional in their work to gain a better understanding of the role. The purpose of shadowing is to gain insight rather than hands-on experience. For the same purpose, participation in meetings, moments of exchange of experiences and networking opportunities with executives could be formative.

Invitation to participate in events with authoritative people in the field of reference, to get to know and make known new professionalism and to increase professional contacts. Participation will foster an active role by sharing personal opinions and experiences.

  • Availability of managers with relevant experience in different fields of activity for personal dialogues and to receive feedback and suggestions.
    The career counsellor will support female students in approaching their professional future to:
  • orient towards the strengthening of specific professional skills and illustrate specific aspects related to career and personal development
  • support the understanding of the current labour market and suggest ways to deal with situations and contexts that often seem complex
  • offer advice on how to conduct a job search best and develop action plans
  • provide specific tips on how to write your personal CV, how to apply for a position, and how to prepare for an interview
