The Education Programme for Economic and Social Sciences (PESES), promoted by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and directed by Professor Carlo Cottarelli, was created with the aim of offering secondary school students from all over Italy the extraordinary opportunity to interact with protagonists and experts of the recent Italian political scene.

"The motivation of the Peses program is twofold, on the one hand to provide an opportunity for information, education and transmission of concepts to young people, and on the other hand to share the experience of very important characters, giving moral support to the Italian school and inspiring the future of students." - Carlo Cottarelli

There are different themes, which may also change depending on the character who will take part in the cycle of conversations from time to time.

For example: the economic situation of our country and of Europe; the management of economic policies of public spending and taxation; monetary policy and finance; social and environmental sustainability; inequalities (income, opportunities, territorial, gender); European policies and international cooperation; Italian law and Constitution; experiences of entrepreneurship; communication related to these areas; the professional experience of experts.

Peses was born from the 2023 / 2024 school year. In the first year, the program includes about 150 presentations, and then grows in the following years.

If compatible with the available resources, evening visits to cultural clubs will also be provided, with particular attention to those for the elderly.

There is no cost to schools. Travel expenses for the PESES program will be financed by Arca Fondi SGR and other donors that may be added over time.
