27/02/2023 - Guidelines for teaching activities until the end of the academic year 2022/23

Directions to carry out teaching activities until the end of the academic year 2022/23

After three years strongly marked by the pandemic, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore has reworked its teaching activities in a perspective that helps to rediscover the elements of coexistence, sharing and concreteness characteristic of every educational path.

According to the provisions of Rectoral Decree no. 9666 of 23 February 2023, lectures will be held in person until the end of the current academic year and enrolled students will be able to access the recording of lectures online (which cannot be downloaded) for a limited period of time ,  determined by the individual Faculties.

Oral and written exams and final examinations will also normally be held in person, unless one of the exceptional situations that authorise the remote oral examination occurs, namely:

  1. Serious health reasons, such as medium/long-term hospitalisation or prolonged illness, for which the competent doctor at the campus where the student is enrolled decides against taking the examination in person;
  2. Difficulties for students to return to Italy from countries that have introduced restrictions on outgoing mobility; due to restrictions introduced by Italy on incoming mobility; due to the conflict in Ukraine;
  3. outbound students, subject to the favourable opinion of the Dean of the relevant Faculty. Each Faculty, according to its own peculiarities and needs, defines specific internal provisions or procedures to be referred to. It does not apply to international exchange students currently on exchange at Università Cattolica (inbound).

In all the University's campuses, the final exams for undergraduate, graduate and single-cycle degree programmes and all the Degree Commissions (including the ceremonies for the proclamation of undergraduate degrees) will be convened in person.

The possibility of taking the exams relating to the final exam remotely will be guaranteed to students who are prevented from participating in the tests, self-certifying, upon receipt of the call, the recurrence of one of the exceptional situations mentioned above in points 1 and 2.

The above-mentioned provisions are applicable, as far as they are compatible, to university master's degree courses, specialization courses and PhD courses.

Specific indications are provided for the access of international students, also in relation to the provisions established by the Government Authorities.

The above-mentioned measures enter into force as of 1 March 2023 and remain valid to the extent compatible with the regulatory indications, in force or to be issued in the future, and until new provisions are determined.

Thanking the students in advance for the seriousness and perseverance of their commitment, we  recommend frequent consultation of the iCatt portal and the iCatt app.
