The Alumni Network

Launched in the 2004-2005 academic year, the General Management programme boasts an important network of Alumni, employed with roles of significant responsibility within qualified national and multinational companies, who actively collaborate in the implementation of numerous educational initiatives, strengthening the link between the training proposal and the world of work.

Alumni testimonials

Here are the words of some former students of the profile in General Management, who document paths, outlets and lived experiences.

Following the achievement of the Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, my goal was to undertake a degree programme that would allow me to look at the world of work with a wide range of observation perspectives. At the end of my studies, I can confirm that the profile in General Management of the Graduate Degree in Business Management has fulfilled my initial goal. Today more than ever, I believe that presenting oneself to companies in a flexible and open way, with a general culture and without too many constraints on the position to be covered according to thedegree programme attended, is a great added value to meet business needs. For me it was: the combination of the training course, the desire to learn and the desire to always get involved that allowed me to hold the position of Sales Manager at SELEA, a leading company in the production of license plate reading cameras.

Nicola UgolettiAfter obtaining an undergraduate degree from a state university, during my graduate degree in General Management I had the opportunity to study in several countries (Poland, Spain and Holland) and to carry out an internship in Ireland. I am very satisfied with the training programmee, which by privileging not only theoretical skills, but also the ability to work within teams and with people of different cultures, has facilitated the learning process and my entry into the world of work in a difficult period due to the economic situation.

Nicola Ugoletti, Senior Finance Analyst [SpaceNK]

The programme in General Management at Università Cattolica provided me with the foundations to be able to design a dynamic career path that, to date, has allowed me to resell myself and range in different sectors such as consulting, consumer goods and, lastly, in the tech field. I believe that the dynamism, competition and problems that most companies, regardless of the sector, have gone through in recent years has brought the market to look for specialist as well as generalist profiles. The programme in General Management has allowed me to develop solid skills in the management of group dynamics, business processes and in particular predisposition to project management and work for objectives that, based on my experience, are discriminating success factors common to all industries.

I graduated in 2013 in Business Management with a specialisation in General Management at the Piacenza campus of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Today I am Finance Business Analyst at Sky Italia and, more specifically, I am in charge of drafting and monitoring budget updates for the Sky Sports area, therefore of all the sporting events that we broadcast on our television platforms. It's a really stimulating job and it allows me to work side by side every day with personalities from the world of sport with whom it has always been a dream to be able to confront myself. I highly recommend the profile in General management as it is a very complete degree programme, which allows you to touch and deepen every crucial aspect of the life of a company (marketing, human resources, finance). Once you have completed your studies, you know every single facet of corporate life, and this allowed me to be selected among a wide range of candidates for a project management position. From there began my working adventure in one of the most dynamic and stimulating companies on the Italian and European scene!

Dario Ratazzi, Finance Business Analyst [Sky Italia]

Maura Di MeoMine was a full and very stimulating degree programme experience; I also had the opportunity to study and work for a year in the States. I am proud to have studied at Università Cattolica and to have chosen the profile in General Management as I believe this has given me a 360-degree view of what a company is and its mechanisms, increasing the value of my contribution within a large company like Calzedonia.

Maura Di Meo, District Manager [Calzedonia]

I participated in The Future Makers project as a first-year student of the General Management profile: the experience was a truly unique opportunity for me ! With three other students from the University, I was selected from 12,000 applicants by The Boston Consulting Group. This experience gave me the opportunity to confront, together with 99 other boys and girls, with the great names of the Italian and international economy on the issues that we face every day at university:

  • the importance of an innovative vision of business, as suggested by King (Candy Crush) CEO Riccardo Zacconi;
  • the continuous focus on supporting Made in Italy, as recalled by Andrea Guerra, Executive Chairman of Eataly;
  • the company policies and tools for gender equality which, according to the story of Cristina Scocchia, CEO of Kiko, highlight how the world and managerial career paths have changed in recent years.

But that's not all, we were also able to interact directly with BCG consultants and experience and see the world of consulting as an "insider"! It  was truly an unforgettable experience and I wish everyone the opportunity to participate in the next editions!
