The educational path

The first year of the programme is aimed at the acquisition of a common base of skills and the eventual recovery of previous skills, both humanistic, linguistic and informatic.
The lectures are accompanied by an adequate number of workshops, the contents of which are commensurate from year to year on the needs expressed by the job market.
The lessons are organized in compact modules of three hours (four for the workshops) per week in order to rationally occupy the working days from Monday to Friday, normally from 9.30 to 16.30 (with possible subsequent spaces for personal study or group work).
At the end of the semester, students can take exams for the courses they have just completed and (where applicable) for the related workshops.

The second year , on the other hand, presents courses with a professional slant. Lecture activities are concentrated in the first semester, with the same organizational methods as in the first year. The second semester is reserved for any remedial courses, the final workshop, the company internship and the final dissertation.

II year - Programme calendar - a.y. 2023-2024

All courses (including workshops) may include opportunities for mid-term assessment, including group assessments, and conclude with a personal assessment test which is expressed through a mark out of thirty. In the case of workshops attached to the courses, the final grade affects the final grade of the course according to a percentage communicated by the teacher in his/her syllabus (normally between 20 and 30%).

Exams take the form of oral interviews, written papers or practical productions. The internship activity is evaluated by means of a report drawn up by the company tutor and collected by the internship tutor of the programme.

The realization of the final exam is a privileged opportunity to verify the skills acquired, both in terms of disciplinary contents, methods and tools available, and finally with regard to the ability to apply these contents and methods in practice. The final test normally consists in the construction of a product that, on the basis of a serious research activity, presents a concrete output (a website, a feasibility project for an online campaign, etc.). Whenever possible, the disseration is linked to the internship experience. The final grade is expressed in 110th with possible honors taking into account the student's overall curriculum and the quality of the disseration.

Guidelines for the writing of theses

The programme supports students with two tutors. The first deals with classroom issues, the possible recovery of skills in deficiency, the organization of para-training activities, orientation for any study experiences abroad. The second is an internship tutor who intervenes at the beginning of the second year to guide and support the student in choosing and carrying out the internship experience.

In general, attendance of courses (and in particular of workshops) is strongly recommended. However, the GeCo uses the in-depth distance learning experience gained during the SARS-CoV-2 crisis to prepare personalized paths for workers or other students who for various reasons could not attend: all training modules provide non-attending students with adequate tools to acquire the specific knowledge and skills required. For this purpose, BlackBoard, one of the most advanced platforms in the world for training professionals, is used . Working students can use 4 years to complete the GeCo, adopting a study plan "halved" from year to year compared to the normal one and enjoying a proportional reduction in enrolment costs. A specific teaching architecture has been prepared for these cases, in order to maintain the progression in the acquisition of course content typical of the normal duration.
