From the academic year 2023/2024, for a limited number of students (12), it will be possible to attend an international training programme in English called International Relations: People, Rights and Resources (PRR), which provides, within a predefined Erasmus mobility proposal, the first semester at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, the second semester of the first year at UiS-Universitet i Stavanger (Norway) and the first semester of the second year at Leibniz Universität Hannover (Germany).
More information can be found on the following page.

The format

The normal duration of the graduate degree programme is two years. The didactic organisation includes lectures accompanied by exercises, case studies and interventions by experts, educational initiatives of a seminar nature.

During the first year, students will have to attend courses related to all five scientific-disciplinary areas that characterise the study programme (economic, legal, political, sociological and historical fields), as well as deepening their knowledge of foreign languages. The second year of studies allows the student to complete his/her specialist preparation, placing particular emphasis on internship experiences, both in Italy and abroad, aimed at experimenting with the possibilities of making the most of the different disciplines on topics of international interest, and on the work of preparing the dissertation, an opportunity to synthesize and apply the knowledge acquired under the guidance of the supervisor.
In the Graduate degree programme, particular attention will be paid to analysing:

  • the actors, dynamics and theories of international relations, the dynamics and protagonists of the European and global economic system;
  • the governance policies of economic processes and their interdependencies and the processes of social transformation in the contemporary world;
  • the dynamics related to the processes of European integration, the institutions of the European Union and their functioning;
  • macro-regional and global dynamics, in their political, historical-institutional, social and economic dimensions.

The choice of any supernumerary courses, to be evaluated when approving the study plan, must normally be consistent with the student's educational path and possibly functional to the preparation of the degree thesis. In any case, students who intend to take a
A supernumerary examination in a given scientific-disciplinary field must have previously passed the examinations in that sector provided for as compulsory in the study plan.

To obtain the Graduate degree, at least 120 university credits must be acquired.
Each exam is assigned a number of credits, the same for all students, and a grade (expressed in thirtieths) that varies according to the level of preparation.
The mark awarded in the final examination is expressed in one hundred and tenths.
