Making decisions today means knowing how to deal with an unstable dynamic context, from a socio-cultural, political, market, regulatory and business and organizational point of view.

In this context, interdisciplinarity is increasingly emerging as the keystone, which allows us to integrate and tune the different fields of knowledge, to understand complex problems with greater sensitivity, to look at market and business dynamics with new eyes and to propose transdisciplinary solutions.

The Graduate Degree in Markets and Corporate Strategies develops one of the strengths of the Faculty of Economics at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, namely the ability to train graduates with a strongly interdisciplinary profile.

What? The uniqueness of the educational experience offered by the degree course in Markets and Corporate Strategies is given by the fact that no discipline is treated as a silo of knowledge. Constitutively, each course combines and relates, through co-teaching, knowledge and skills from different disciplinary areas, from the fields of business, economics, statistics, law and criticism. The problems that characterize the current market and business dynamics are thus analyzed from different specialized points of view, to enable the graduate to integrate knowledge and knowledge in a flexible and innovative way, not through a simple summation, but through their joint use in the in-depth study of complex problems, which can only be better understood if addressed in an interdisciplinary perspective.

Educational background and skills profiles

The training is based on a programme in which the student learns to analyze business realities and market contexts in an advanced way, according to a critical analytical and strategic approach aimed at grasping and managing complexity.

During his/her training, the student deepens the study of economic and managerial disciplines aimed at the management of intangible business resources and innovation paths; learns how to raise capital and manage financial resources; discover the mechanisms for regulating markets and competition between companies and those for regulating economic and commercial relations in the context of global economic governance; explores the processes of building corporate citizenship and the rules related to environmental policies; they acquire advanced quantitative statistical-econometric tools and project management skills, to be used in the analysis of market and business dynamics and in the determination of the most appropriate strategic responses, as well as the logical structures that characterize rational decisions.

To offer more direction to interdisciplinary training, students have the possibility, based on their career goals, to choose between two curricula: 1. Global markets; 2. Business strategies.

The curriculum in Global Markets specializes the student towards the knowledge of tools and models for the analysis of the main dynamics of the internationalization processes of companies and markets and towards the understanding of a labor market increasingly characterized by movements and migrations of human and intellectual capital.

The curriculum in Business Strategies prepares the student to deal with the processes of decision-making, negotiation and leadership building, which characterize the relationships between economic agents, through the knowledge of tools and systemic models to better understand and analyze the dynamic evolution of complex systems.

In addition to the choice of the specialization curriculum, the student completes the training programme with the inclusion of a course of free choice.
