Michela Balconi, coordinator of the programme, describes its main features

The qualifying objective of the graduate degree is the in-depth study of the theoretical and
the methodological-operational one of the psychological processes underlying subjective well-being
in general and with reference to specific areas of intervention.
The skills that the graduate degree aims to make students acquire concern:

  • the comprehension and critical analysis of theories, models and psychological concepts about subjective well-being and the processes of development of personal potential, also considering the resources that the environment, technology, culture and community make available;
  • the mastery of methodologies and tools for the assessment of levels of subjective well-being and for interventions aimed at maintaining and increasing well-being;
  • knowledge of the main areas in which subjective well-being is taken care of from a psychological perspective.

The general objective of the graduate degree is to provide an advanced knowledge of the contents and methods of the basic psychological disciplines, integrating them with the theoretical and methodological knowledge and methods of intervention and evaluation of cognitive psychology and the psychology of emotions; positive psychology; life cycle psychology; psychology of education, guidance and training; work psychology; economic psychology; social and community psychology; environmental psychology; communication and media psychology; ergonomics; the psychology of art; health psychology; emergency psychology; rehabilitation psychology; the methodology of psychological research, neuroscience and related disciplines. The skills that will be acquired by students concern the field of research, assessment and intervention, referring to both consolidated and innovative theories and methodologies.
The programme includes the in-depth study of theoretical models, research data, methodologies and procedures of analysis and intervention. It also includes activities aimed at the acquisition of operational skills and professional practices, as well as the refinement of thinking and re-elaboration, planning, monitoring and evaluation skills.

There is also a course called Professional Experiences (mandatory and expendable for the purposes of the Practical Evaluative Internship (T.P.V.) provided for by the qualifying degree in psychology) and the professionalizing internship (T.P.V.) provided for by the qualifying degree in psychology.
