Crime & Security Analysis

CrimeSec is the Crime & Security Analysis curriculum of the Graduate Degree in Public Policy at the Università Cattolica of Milan, coordinated by Prof. Francesco Calderoni.
This curriculum provides the tools for the knowledge of crime and the main issues related to public and private security. Graduates work in the field of crime prevention, money laundering, corruption and terrorism.

Structure

Training

  • Understand the main issues related to crime and security in public and private institutions
  • Know the main practical and theoretical tools to operate in the criminological field
  • Plan for the prevention and reduction of the criminal event

Specific teachings of CrimeSec

  • Interdisciplinarity of teaching with courses in criminology, economics, law, research methodology and statistics
  • Application of the main criminological theories and study of crime analysis techniques
  • Statistical and methodological preparation for a correct use of data
  • Legal training in the field of criminal law, with particular attention to regulations related to IT security and privacy
  • Economic training to learn about business processes and risk management
  • Attention to modern investigative and security techniques such as crime mapping, social network analysis, situational crime prevention
