LM-38 (Modern languages for communication and international cooperation)

The graduate degree programme has a strong job orientation. Graduates of the Graduate Programme will be able to exercise - depending on the specialty obtained, but with a wide exchange of skills - qualified functions in the following areas:

  • specialist and editorial translation as a self-employed business or employment in companies, institutions, international institutions, EU institutions, publishing houses and in any sector qualified translation skills are required;
  • the teaching of foreign languages in any field that requires language training, from school to business;
  • communication with organisations, cultural institutions, publishing houses that work with foreign countries;
  • the management and direction: a) of Italian companies operating abroad, "made in Italy" companies, foreign and multinational companies (and/or international organisations and institutions); b) international and global economic and business relations and, in general, the commercial development of companies on the global market (internationalisation and export management); c) corporate and commercial communication of companies in Italy and abroad (corporate & brand communication and business media and social media communication);
  • entrepreneurship, innovative management and management of local and global tourism businesses and activities with a strong vocation for the development of local and international tourism business at all levels (hotels, resorts, luxury tourism companies, airlines and international transport companies, companies operating in the cruise business, in the field of international events, entertainment, web enterprise, etc.).

In addition, a graduate programme is a prerequisite for continuing studies in second-level university specialising Masters, postgraduate courses and PhD programmes.

 

Literature and Communication

The teaching of foreign languages in schools (please note that it is essential to read the ministerial regulations in order to adapt the individual study plan to what is required for the acquisition of the required training ECTS) and in any sector that requires language training; The curriculum also prepares students for self-employed, entrepreneurial or employment professional activities in the field of international communication in institutions, companies and enterprises, in particular cultural and publishing.

 

Languages for specialist and editorial translation

Self-employed professional activities or employees in companies, enterprises, societies, international organisations, but also in the advertising sector, in publishing houses, EU and cultural institutions and in any other sector specialist translation skills are required, as well as the teaching of foreign languages.

 

Management and international economic relations

The graduate will be able to effectively fit in as an employee, consultant, assistant to the management and to the head of the company, export manager, international human resource manager, entrepreneur and manager within the various company functions: general management, marketing management, communication, media and social media management, sales and sales management both in Italy and abroad of large multinational and global companies, small and medium-sized internationalized companies that export to Europe and the United States, foreign companies operating in Italy, web companies with international clients, consulting firms, import/export offices of companies, institutions and bodies operating in the field of international economic relations, other business activities.

 

Management, entrepreneurship and communication for global tourism

The graduate will be able to easily fit in as an entrepreneur, manager, marketing & communication manager, development manager, hotel manager, international event manager, consultant, media and social media manager in the following companies (both Italian and foreign): large and small accommodation companies (hotels, international and global hotel chains, large international events, resorts, campsites, B&Bs, accommodation facilities of all kinds), international and global physical and web tour operators, transport companies (airlines, ships, cruise ships, railways, etc.), entertainment companies (music, shows, amusement parks, etc.), both profit and non-profit cultural enterprises (theaters and museums with international activity), tourist service companies, communication companies, web companies. The graduate will also be able to develop their own businesses in the tourism and entertainment sectors. Another professional outlet is that of the linguistic-cultural mediator specialised in welcoming foreign tourists.
