The programme in a nutshell

The degree programme is active at the ROME CAMPUS of Università Cattolica at Policlinico A. Gemelli

The programme is aimed at training a rehabilitation health professional who, also in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, is able to implement interventions for the prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of childhood neuropsychiatric pathologies, in the various areas of neuropsychomotricity, neuropsychology and developmental psychopathology, building, through the application of clinical reasoning, targeted rehabilitation settings, and pursuing objectives to short, medium and long term. At the same time, the programme aims to train a healthcare professional capable of establishing a meaningful therapeutic relationship with the child and his or her family and establishing an effective relationship with the multidisciplinary team with which he or she collaborates.

Graduates in Childhood Neuro and Psychomotricity will find employment both in the public sector (NHS facilities, accredited facilities) and in the private sector (rehabilitation centers, home rehabilitation, etc.).

The training project, which covers all areas of intervention of the childhood neuro and psychomotor therapist, is characterised by its innovativeness and completeness, thanks also to the significant synergy with the Pediatric Neuropsychiatry Unit and the Ne.Mo Clinical Center of the Policlino Universitario Fondazione "Agostino Gemelli" IRCCS. These centres, where the students of the degree programme will carry out their professional internship, are in fact centres of reference and excellence for rare diseases, visual and neurovisual deficits, epilepsy and neuromuscular diseases and carry out a central activity in the experimentation and research of new drugs at national and international level with a direct involvement of the professional figure of the neuro and psychomotor therapist of the developmental age.

All types of educational activities provided for by the system contribute to the achievement of the learning objectives specified by the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (Dublin Descriptors).
