1st year
The first year is aimed at providing the basic chemical-physical, biological and environmental knowledge, the legal foundations and the professional discipline, as well as the foundation of the epidemiological method as requirements for dealing with the first internship experiences aimed at orienting the student to the professional areas of reference and the acquisition of basic skills.

2nd year
The second year is aimed at deepening multidisciplinary knowledge characterising the different areas of intervention of the professional figure and professional skills related to the methods and techniques of prevention in the various sectors of competence (hygiene and safety in the workplace, with environmental protection techniques and references to the health prevention of occupational diseases), hygiene and safety of food and nutrition, hygiene and public health, occupational medicine and radiation protection. Internship experiences are provided in contexts where the student can experiment with the knowledge and techniques learned.

3rd year
The third year is aimed at specialised in-depth study in risk management processes - including of a psychosocial nature -,  technology, work organisation and data management for the acquisition of knowledge and methodologies related to professional practice, the ability to work in teams and in complex organisational contexts. In this context, methodological skills of scientific research are refined, also to support the elaboration of the dissertation. The relevance assigned to the internship experiences increases year by year and the student can experience a gradual assumption of autonomy and responsibility under the supervision of experts.
This curricular logic has resulted in the choice of assigning ECTS to the internship experiences, which gradually increase from the 1st to the 3rd year.
