L/SNT1 (Nursing and midwifery)

1st year
Aimed at providing the knowledge for the understanding of biological phenomena, the physiology of organs and systems with particular reference to the physiology of human reproduction and embryonic development. It is also aimed at providing the theoretical-practical bases of general care, obstetric-gynecological and neonatal care according to the principles of Midwifery in order to create the requirements to face the first internship experience in the professional areas of reference.

2nd year
Aimed at deepening the physiopathological, pharmacological, cardiology, specialist and assistance knowledge for the surveillance of physiological pregnancy and high-risk pregnancy as well as the assistance of healthy and critical newborns; It is also aimed at providing knowledge in the field of obstetric and gynaecological surgery. Communication skills will also be acquired to establish a good relationship with the individual, couple and community, aimed at preventing and promoting the health of the woman/couple/family. Multiple internship experiences are planned to allow the student to experiment with the knowledge and techniques learned.

3rd year
Aimed at deepening the knowledge of oncology, endocrinology, as well as the principles of bioethics and the ethical, deontological and medico-legal rules of the midwifery profession. It is also aimed at achieving progressive autonomy of clinical judgment in the management of obstetric emergencies and urgencies independently and in collaboration with other professionals. Training activities are planned aimed at the acquisition of methodological skills for the understanding of obstetric research and to support the elaboration of the final thesis. Greater importance is given to the internship experience and the student can experience gradual assumption of autonomy under the supervision of experts.
