L/SNT2 (Health professions for rehabilitation)

1st year

  • acquisition of basic biological, biomedical, neurophysiological, socio-psycho-pedagogical knowledge, as fundamentals of the discipline and professional methodology;
  • learning of the anatomy and physiology of the visual apparatus and the pathophysiology of binocular vision as well as amblyopia;
  • understanding of the basic elements of orthoptics;
  • in-depth knowledge of the pathophysiological perspective in all its aspects.
  • Basic skills are an essential prerequisite for facing the first internship experience, which will be aimed at orienting the student in the healthcare environment of reference and knowledge of the procedures and interaction between the different professional figures.


2nd year

  • acquisition of knowledge related to pathologies of the eye, its appendages and the entire visual apparatus that must then be related to neurological and systemic pathologies in childhood, adulthood and geriatrics;
  • comprehension of the fundamental elements of orthoptic methodology and of ocular motility and binocular vision pathologies;
  • in-depth study of instrumental and non-instrumental ophthalmological semeiology techniques;
  • knowledge of the basic principles of preventive, occupational and legal medicine.
  • Skills in computer science and medical statistics will have to be acquired aimed at deepening the methodology of research in the rehabilitation field.


3rd year

  • acquisition of theoretical and practical skills in the field of ophthalmological surgery assistance;
  •  in-depth knowledge in the field of neuro-psycho-visual rehabilitation;
  • basic skills to deal with acute, systemic and ocular critical situations;
  • basic knowledge in the field of health business economics and labour law, with particular attention to professional ethics;
  • acquisition of the necessary knowledge in the field of radiation protection;
  • interaction with other rehabilitation figures by establishing collaborative relationships based on the knowledge of different skills, also with the aim of defining priorities for intervention in situations of multiple disabilities.

The third year will be aimed at the acquisition of knowledge and methodologies related to the exercise of the profession, to specialized in-depth study, but also to training in teamwork and in complex organizational contexts. The student will participate in the internship experience in a more engaging and personal way, experiencing a gradual assumption of autonomy and responsibility under the supervision of experts in the various specialized sectors. Methodological skills of scientific research will also be provided to support the elaboration of the disseration, as well as elements of management  useful for professional development in work contexts.
