LM-13. (Pharmacy and industrial pharmacy)

300 university credits (ECTS) are required to obtain the degree. As a rule, 60 ECTS are acquired each year with assessment tests both for the courses and for the other supplementary forms of teaching. An equal number of ECTS is assigned to each course for all students. The grade (expressed in thirtieths) varies according to the level of
preparation of the student. The final grade, which includes the evaluation of the final exam, is expressed in one hundred and tenths.

The integrated five-year/six-year degree programme provides a solid base of curricular courses recognized in EU accreditation combined with five characterizing profiles:

  • Clinical Physician
  • Management
  • Medical Devices & Diagnostics
  • Clinical Trials
  • Sport & Wellness

Students will also have the opportunity to choose elective courses from those offered in a wide range of biomedical disciplines. In addition, the (active) participation in workshop activities is important, as well as the possibility of working in research workshops
at the forefront for the development of the degree dissertation.

Programme Structure

The Degree Programme in Pharmacy offers a high-level educational offer that is articulated through the various disciplinary sectors.
The basic courses cover the fields of physics, chemistry and biology, without neglecting the biotechnological, pharmacological, chemical and technical sectors applied to pharmaceuticals. The innovative nature of the degree programme in Pharmacy at Università Cattolica is represented by the strong focus on the Pharmacy of care services. In fact, this programme comes to life from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and offers the tangible opportunity to approach an in-depth study of new drugs and medical and diagnostic devices, which can be evaluated within clinical practice. The possibility of interacting with the medical and healthcare professionals working at the Fondazione Policlinico A. Gemelli - IRCCS, including the hospital pharmacy , will be a strong added value of this training course.
The presence of the Degree Programme in Economics and Management of Services, Healthcare Management profile guarantees the possibility of acquiring knowledge and managerial skills essential for pharmacists in all areas. As part of the training courses, lectures are combined with workshop teaching, through which it is possible to apply the notions learned and verify one's preparation, as well as prepare for entry into the world of work.
In order to compare it with the concrete working realities, various curricular internship, training and orientation activities are also proposed.
