The programme at a glance

The social worker: solid skills and strong motivation

The professionalism of the social worker requires interdisciplinary training: a broad knowledge base in the psychological, legal, ethical and organizational fields is essential. The opportunity to meet "experienced users and family members", to have direct testimonies, is another excellence of the Programme.

Teaching methodology

The direct participation of students, combined with theoretical courses related to methods and techniques of social work, is planned on several occasions: an introductory internship in the first year, a professional internship in the second, an internship in the last year, seminars and workshops spread over the three years of the course.

And then? A competent figure in situations of social hardship

The Social Worker can work within a public body or a non-profit organization or can practice as a freelancer. The attention of the course to the motivational plan will help to manage situations of fragility related to poverty, child maltreatment, family conflicts or addictions.

Presentation

The degree course in Sciences for Social Work prepares for the profession of social worker by allowing graduates to access the State Examination for registration in the Register of Social Workers. The training is interdisciplinary, as future professionals will have to deal with complex situations on a human, ethical, legal and organizational level. Since this is a course with a high level of personal involvement, particular attention is paid to the orientation and motivational accompaniment of students. The profession of social worker requires a constant integration between theoretical knowledge and methodological and technical-practical skills, and therefore particular attention is given to internships, workshops, professional teaching activities, seminars and guided exercises. The direct participation of "experienced users and family members" in the training of future social workers is an excellence of our degree course in line with international trends.
