The programme at a glance

Investigating society, studying its evolution

Major social issues, addressed with an approach that combines theoretical study with practical research, are at the heart of this degree programme. In addition to the strictly sociological disciplines, the degree programme includes courses related to the economic-statistical, legal-political, historical-geographical, psycho-pedagogical and demo-ethno-anthropological disciplinary areas.

Teaching methodology

Workshops, exercises and group work are valuable opportunities to complete theoretical training. The social research carried out in the field, and those related to the two specific profiles (safety management or human resources) provide fundamental skills for entering the world of work.

And then? Get to know the problems of social groups up close

A degree in Sociology provides the tools with which to deal with the problems that individuals and organizations encounter in different contexts of everyday life. Graduates will be able to work in very different areas: recruitment and human resources area, management of security systems, market research, services and innovation in the world of work.

Presentation

This degree programme has two main features. On the one hand, it provides a broad theoretical-cultural training, aimed at building the conceptual bases useful for understanding the great emerging social issues and the complexity of the contemporary human condition. On the other hand, it provides a solid technical-practical training aimed at the management of groups, organizations and processes of associated life in specific sectors of the world of work: crime, security, work and business, also through the learning of techniques suitable for the construction and analysis of relevant information in those fields. Throughout the course, students enrich their preparation through multiple laboratory activities aimed at ensuring the acquisition:

  • the ability to use the basic techniques of social research, also with reference to specific fields of application;
  • the ability to use the basic tools for the analysis and management of organizational processes, also with reference to specific areas of application;
  • specific knowledge and skills with reference to the fields of application of technical systems, human resources management, analysis and management of safety problems.

Students can choose, according to their aptitudes and professional goals, between 2 curricular profiles:

  •  Work and enterprise
  •  Crime and security
