Il fine delle organizzazioni non profit è quello di creare e promuovere la solidarietà e la partecipazione sociale attiva, praticando la reciprocità, l'equità, la cura del bene comune e le “regole del dono”.
È noto che questa realtà sociale definita come Terzo Settore comprende organizzazioni differenti come i gruppi, le associazioni di volontariato, le cooperative e le imprese sociali, le fondazioni pro-sociali. L’azione di queste diverse organizzazioni costituisce oggi una risorsa irrinunciabile per l’attuazione delle politiche e degli interventi in materia di welfare a tutti i livelli di governo e in particolare per il funzionamento dei sistemi sanitari e sociosanitari.
La promozione e la tutela della salute delle persone costituisce oggi uno degli ambiti sociali che coinvolgono maggiormente le realtà del terzo settore e del non profit, sia attraverso la collaborazione ed integrazione tra pubblico e privato, sia favorendo l’autonoma iniziativa e l’associazionismo dei privati.
Quanti sono impegnati nelle organizzazioni non profit o erogano servizi sanitari, sociosanitari, sociali ed assistenziali sono chiamati a sviluppare la capacità di cogliere i bisogni, in particolare dei più fragili, di promuovere la dignità delle persone, di progettare insieme agli altri, di organizzare e gestire adeguatamente i servizi.
L’Università Cattolica si propone di offrire una conoscenza approfondita delle principali dinamiche che caratterizzano il Terzo Settore come fenomeno sociale rilevante, di progettare servizi e interventi generatori di benessere e di promuovere l’acquisizione di competenze per operare efficacemente al suo interno promuovendo relazionalità, capacità di fare rete ed innovatività sociale.
