Alessandro Rovetta, lecturer of the programme, describes its main characteristics

The training course is based on theoretical teaching with a high degree of specialized content, on guided theoretical-practical activities and on the development of students' autonomous skills, which are directed to individual research.

Objectives

Specific learning objectives include the following competences, knowledge and skills:

  • achieve theoretical, methodological and operational scientific skills in the field of classical and medieval archaeology and medieval, modern and contemporary art history, which also allow access to doctorates and specialisation schools;
  • know how to manage public and private institutions, protection bodies, public offices and foundations responsible for the conservation, cataloguing, enhancement and management of archaeological and artistic heritage;
  • possess advanced methodological skills for the purposes of archaeological and art-historical research and critical exegesis in the different areas and in the different chronological sectors related to the development of artefacts and arts (architecture, painting, sculpture, applied arts from ancient to contemporary age).

The normal duration of the graduate degree programme is an additional two years after the undergraduate degree programme.
