LM-14 (Modern philology)

Due emphasis will be given to the edition of the texts, as well as to the methodologically equipped analysis and the critically informed and bibliographically informed interpretation of the works; the historical dimension of the phenomena studied, taking into account the changes and epochal turning points, but also the authoritativeness of traditional authors, the continuity of tradition and intertextual practice, as well as the treatment of theoretical-epistemological issues and interdisciplinary aspects; the maturation of an overall vision of human facts and signs over time; the methodology of the research, the places, the sources and the tools, ancient and modern, available; skills in the analysis and interpretation of artistic, performing art, communication and media promotion contexts, in particular in their intermedial dimensions and in their relationship with literature; practical experimentation of operational techniques in the field, through exercises, workshops and internships; finally, to carry out original research, in progress, within specific teaching activities, and of course to crown the cycle of studies, with the degree dissertation.

The exams will take the form of interviews or written papers or productions or practical exercises. The assessment of learning can be measured, in addition to the usual exams, also through the administration of ongoing tests and the evaluation of what has been produced or reworked in the different teaching contexts (exercises, drafting of studies or projects, seminars, etc.). The preparation of the final dissertation will then be a privileged opportunity to verify the skills acquired both in terms of disciplinary content and the methods and tools used. The normal duration of the graduate degree programme is two years. To obtain the Graduate Programme in Modern Philology, students must have acquired at least 120 university ECTS. Each subject is awarded a certain number of credits (ECTS), the same for all students, and for each exam taken a grade (expressed in thirtieths) that varies according to the level of preparation. The teaching activities conclude with an oral or written test, the outcome of which is usually expressed in thirtieths. After passing the final exam, the student obtains the title of Graduate Programme Degree in Modern Philology.

Notes and tips for the construction of the study plan
To facilitate an effective personalization of the study path, students will agree on their study plan with teachers in charge of each area of interest.
As part of the degree programme, it will be possible to obtain the 24 ECTS necessary to access the competition for the purposes of the annual initial training and probationary course, if not already obtained in whole or in part in the undergraduate programme.
