Objectives

The Graduate Degree Programme in Health Professions of Rehabilitation Sciences aims to:

  • provide training that allows the graduate to coordinate and/or direct simple and complex organisations using tools and measures for planning, human resources management, accounting in business economics; manage working groups and apply appropriate strategies to promote multi-professional and organisational integration processes;
  • allow the student to learn research methodologies necessary to collaborate in projects aimed at the continuous improvement of activities in the rehabilitation field and to collaborate with the care team to carry out the application and development of protocols and guidelines;
  • allow students to participate in the design and management of educational activities in the field of lifelong learning for rehabilitation professionals; design and implement, in collaboration with other professionals, educational and support interventions for the individual and the community for the self-management and control of risk factors and health problems.

 

Skills

The skills of graduates in the class include the ability to:

  • apply the basic knowledge of the sciences relevant for the specific professional figure necessary to make decisions relating to the organisation and management of health services provided by personnel with rehabilitation functions in the medical area, within low-, medium- or high-complexity health facilities;
  • use the skills of health economics and business organisation necessary for the organisation of health services, for the management of available human and technological resources, evaluating the cost/benefit ratio; use the methods and tools of research in the area of the organisation of health services pertinent to the professional figures of the class, in the clinical-assistance areas, in the organisation and in training;
  • apply and evaluate the impact of different theoretical models in the operation of the organisation and management of health services;
  • design and implement training interventions for updating and lifelong learning related to the reference health facilities; develop disciplinary teaching, relevant to the specific professional figure, in basic, complementaryand tutorial training and internship coordination activities;
  • communicate clearly on organisational and health issues with its collaborators and users;
  • critically analyse the ethical and deontological aspects of the professions in the health area, also in a perspective of multi-professional integration. Students, in consideration of the different professional figures targeted in the class, will be able to carry out internships in accredited services (Service Departments, Training Services, Research Centers).
