The programme in a nutshell

The degree programme is active in the ROME CAMPUS of Università Cattolica at the Policlinico A. Gemelli

Professionalism and human sensitivity: a figure at the service of others

Choosing to embark on this path means wanting to mature, in addition to technical and scientific skills, strong interpersonal skills and a strong ability to work in a team.

The courses are organized in facilities located throughout the country: the partnerships activated with hospitals, health authorities and institutes allow the training course to be carried out in different locations before the final qualifying exam for the profession.

Teaching methodology

Direct experiences are the real added value of these courses: in addition to lectures, from the first year students are involved in practical training activities and clinical internships (with professional tutors).

And then?

Graduates in Dental Hygiene find employment in the various specialist areas of Dentistry, Odontostomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery in hospitals and out-of-hospitals belonging to the National Health Service and in similar private structures; in public and private dental clinics; in university and non-university research laboratories in the dental sector; in manufacturing industries and marketing agencies operating in the field of dental hygiene and dentistry.

Presentation

The undergraduate degree programme in Dental Hygiene provides an adequate preparation in the basic disciplines, which allow the understanding of the most considerable elements concerning the pathological processes that develop in developmental, adult and geriatric age, on which the diagnostic intervention is focused. Of particular importance, as an integral and qualifying part of professional training, is the practical training and clinical internship activity, carried out under the supervision and guidance of specially assigned professional tutors, coordinated by a teacher belonging to the highest training level required for the professional profile.
