The programme in a nutshell

The degree programme is active in the ROME CAMPUS of Università Cattolica at the Policlinico A. Gemelli

The programme aims to train healthcare professionals able to carry out, within the scope of their competence, laboratory activities relating to biochemical and biotechnological, microbiotic, virological, pharmacotoxicology, immunology, clinical pathology, hematology, genetics, immunometry including radioimmunological techniques, cytopathology and pathological anatomy and histopathology, with responsibility for the technical scope of the services, in accordance with current regulations.

The didactic objective of the programme is to provide the student with the basics for the knowledge of biological and pathological phenomena, the learning of the principles of operation of analytical instrumentation, the methodological bases and clinical pathology, including pharmacotoxicological and pharmaceutical galenic, biotechnological, immunohematological, immunometric analyses with radioimmunological method, genetics and anatomocytohistopathology and sector room, the principles of laboratory safety and radiation protection.

All types of educational activities provided for by the system contribute to the achievement of the learning objectives specified by the European Descriptors of Qualifications (Dublin Descriptors).
