Programme Structure
The contents of the programme will also be addressed using innovative teaching methods to facilitate the integration of knowledge, skills and abilities related to the world of European institutions, finance, languages-cultures and communication.
In fact, in addition to lectures, interdisciplinary seminars dedicated to discussion and research will be offered, as well as the implementation of group activities for the realization and discussion of cases: these will also be accompanied by meetings with professionals to present and analyze the best practices in place. The teaching activity is completed with the elaboration of a thesis/dissertation project.
Also optional is the carrying out of an internship through which students will be able to deal directly, as observers or as actors, with the complex realities that characterize this professional field.
ECTS
The normal duration of the graduate degree programme is an additional two years after graduation.
The study plan of the degree programme includes a total of 120 credits (ECTS), of which 102 related to the courses and 18 for the elaboration of the dissertation. There will be 4 semesters of teaching: the first two will be held at the Milan campus of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore while the other two semesters will be held at the Lugano campus of the Università della Svizzera Italiana.
Each course is assigned a number of ECTS, the same for all students, and a grade (expressed out of 30) that varies according to the level of preparation. The courses conclude with an evaluation test expressed by means of a mark out of 30.
For the final dissertation, the supervisor chosen by the student can be identified, according to the rules of the School, both among the professors of Università Cattolica and among the professors of USI. The graduation ceremony will take place at Università Cattolica but there will also be a ceremony in Lugano.
To obtain the graduate degree, students must have acquired at least 120 ECTS, including those relating to the final examination.
The time reserved for personal study or other individual training activities constitutes about two-thirds of the total hourly commitment.
After passing the final degree examination, the student obtains the joint degree of the Italian Graduate degree and the Swiss Graduate degree in European studies in investor relations and financial communication.
