There are numerous areas in which graduates of the programme will be able to enter at an employment level, boasting specific skills that can be used in relation to three main profiles:

  • the specialist social worker who, by passing the State examination, can access section A of the Professional Register of Social Workers;
  • the social worker who fosters and guides help processes, as well as implements design functions at the level of casework, groupwork and community work;
  • the team coordinator, manager or head of service who, assuming management and middle-management functions, leads welfare organisations.

In detail, the services and projects consistent with the employment opportunities of this programme include various public and private organisations, including:

  • in intercultural work with people of ethnic minority: S.A.I. (Reception and Integration System) with refugees and asylum seekers, Reception centres and residential facilities for adults and minors, O.I.M. (International Organization for Migration), Services of local municipal authorities and social and health authorities, Educational and social-welfare services working with people with a migrant background, Projects for inclusion and family reunification;
  • in working with people in poverty: Services of local municipal authorities and health and social-health authorities, reception centres for homeless people, day and residential centres for adults and families in conditions of serious marginalisation, projects to combat poverty and educational poverty, centres for mental health and addictions;
  • in welfare and social-welfare work with the elderly: Hospital Social Service, Hospice and End-of-Life Accompaniment Facilities, Home Care Services, Day Centres and Social Care Residences, Services of Local Municipal Authorities and Social and Socio-Health Companies.
