Curricular internship activities

The 4 ECTS for the curricular internship activities of the Degree Programme in Media Languages can be acquired by students in the following ways:

Mode A - Training activities organized by companies within the University (Workshop).

Mode B - Internships offered by companies, which can be consulted both on the Blackboard platform in the "Internship" course, upon registration, and on the web page http://step.unicatt.it/ under "Ad search".

Mode C -  Internships proposed by the student, based on personal contacts with companies and subject to the approval of the university tutor.

Mode D - Recognition of professional activities, in recognized areas congruent with the curriculum of studies, carried out or in progress by the student during the three-year degree period.

Regulation

Mode A

Students enroled in mode A (Training activities organized by companies within the University) will follow the training meetings organized, held by qualified people from companies and realities in the sector. In addition, there are orientation and training activities held personally by the tutors themselves, which complement the activities proposed in a professional sense. The workshops include both initiatives common to all degree fields and initiatives aimed at deepening the individual curricula of study. For more information, please refer to the workshop rules, available here.

Modes B and C

Students who opt for mode B (Internships offered by companies) can apply for the internship offers proposed by the Internship and Placement Office (internship offers that can be consulted online at the https://step.unicatt.it/ website by entering their I-Catt credentials), or for the internship offers proposed by the Internship tutors that can be consulted on BlackBoard within the "Internship" course. Please note that the stay in the company may exceed the hours of work necessary to acquire ECTS, functionally to the needs of the host structure.

Students who opt for modalities B (Internships proposed by companies), C (Internships proposed by students) and D (Recognition of professional activities) must carry out an internship lasting at least 150 hours, assessed by the internship tutors as congruent with the student's educational path. To bring their internship or professional activity proposal to the attention of the tutors, students are invited to contact the reference tutor by sending a profile of the company where the internship experience will take place and a list of the tasks that will be filled.

In order to live a meaningful experience for one's personal and professional growth, it is not allowed to carry out an internship in the family business or have a relative as a tutor.

For the procedures for activating and evaluating curricular internships, please refer to the common regulations.

Mode D

In order to recognize previous or ongoing work experience (mode D) of at least 150 hours, students must present an employment contract or a certification proving the activity.

Students are advised that, starting from January 2021, the recording of the Internship activity, acquired through the internship or alternatively through the workshop path, takes place only through registration to the appropriate session. The process is similar to registering for exams. The available exams are available on the unicatt.it website.

There will be only one session per session and it will be the student's responsibility to enrol on the most suitable date based on their career path. The last available exam session will be 15 days before the chosen graduation session, so we recommend that you finish your internship/workshop at least 20 days before the exam session.

DRAFT LETTER FOR RECOGNITION

Internship Tutor

E-mail is considered the main means of communication between internship tutors and students.

The reference tutors are Dr. Paolo Villa (paolo.villa@unicatt.it) and Dr. Deborah Paola Gaudio (deborahpaola.gaudio@unicatt.it). The stage.limed-mi@unicatt.it mailbox remains available to both students and companies. Mail is regularly checked, so students can read their messages continuously and regularly. Likewise, students are asked to check their inbox daily and provide feedback to university and company tutors in a timely manner.

Internship tutors also receive students, by appointment to be made by e-mail.
