What is an Internship

The internship represents a first step towards the world of work and allows you to put into practice the notions learned and evaluate the real motivation with respect to a professional role. In this regard, it represents an opportunity for professional and personal growth to complete and improve one's curriculum.

Internship Specific Details

  • Duration: The period is between two and three months (between 160 and 320 hours).
  • Compulsory/non-obligatory nature of the internship:
    For students in the Political Sciences and International Relations programme, an internship is not compulsory.
    Students can include an internship experience within the 12 ECTS for elective training activities. The internship will last between two and three months for a total of between 160 and 320 hours and must include tasks related to one's training path.
  • N° ECTS assigned to the internship: 3 ECTS
  • Method of awarding ECTS: ECTS are credited during a specific exam session. For recognition, the following documentation must be delivered to the university tutor: internship register, evaluation questionnaire completed by the company tutor, final internship report drawn up by the student.

 

 

Internship activation procedure

To activate the curricular internship with ECTS, it is necessary to access step.unicatt.it

Before starting the internship, the student must explain to the internship tutor the timing, methods, contents and tasks of the internship. Once you have received confirmation from the Tutor, you will be able to start the activation procedure.

 

 

 

FAQ

Yes, it is possible by making arrangements with the host company and calculating the number of hours needed to reach the 160 hours.

No, but it is possible to enter into an agreement between the university and the proposed company (subject to mutual adhesion). In this way , the company is included in the list of affiliated companies and can receive/enter internship requests.

No, foreign language courses are not considered as elective educational activities.

Yes, you can. To carry out the internship abroad, the student must take the initiative with respect to the inclusion of the Trilateral Agreement/training project for the activation of the internship within the step.unicatt portal. The company and the tutor (for curricular internships) will have to approve the Trilateral Agreement, operating directly on the portal, following the formal steps indicated.

The participation allowance is at the discretion of the host institution.
Scholarships are available for internships abroad. Refer to the regulations indicated on the pages of the individual UCSC International programs.

Yes, it is possible through the internship interruption request available on the step.unicatt.it portal . Since this is a curricular internship with ECTS, in the event of interruption, it is necessary to promptly notify the university tutor.
