Enrolment procedures
Candidates who have been admitted to the first year of the integrated six-year degree programme in Medicine & Surgery a.y. 2023-24 can enrol from 3 July until 6 September 2023
Pre-enrolment procedures
Applicants who have been admitted to the first year of the Single-Cycle Master's Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery a.y. 2023/2024 have to proceed with the pre-enrolment no later than 14th April 2023 by following the instructions in the specific Guide.
Those who do not proceed with the pre-enrolment within this deadline will be deemed to have given up their place, which will be offered to the subsequent applicant in the ranking list.
Final merit list
For the consultation of the rankings, the personal data are represented by a unique identification code that each participant receives by e-mail. In the event of non-receipt of the unique code, it can be verified and resent upon request by writing to ammissioni-rm@unicatt.it
To view the correction of one's work, access the https://consultazioneonline.ilmiotest.it platform using the USERNAME (PIN) and PASSWORD credentials provided on the day of the competition.
The pre-enrollment procedures will be activated from 3 to 14 April 2023.

Guide to pre-enrolment
Candidates admitted from 29 March 2023 to 14 April 2023 must carry out the pre-enrolment procedure referred to in Art. 7 of the notice remotely, and proceed with the payment of the first instalment of the university fee of €4,000.00.
Those who do not make the payment by the deadline will be considered renounced, and their places will be reassigned according to the ranking list.
Convening to examinations
The admission tests for the single-cycle degree programme in Medicine and Surgery for the academic year 2023/24 will be held on 21 and 22 March 2023.
For candidates belonging to the quota of 30 places for EU citizens wherever they reside and non-EU citizens residing in Italy (EU quota), the computer-based admission test will be held in person in the places and at the times indicated in the general convening list.
On the day of the test, candidates must produce at the time of identification:
- A valid identification document in accordance with art. 35 of Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28 December 2000
- A receipt proving payment of the competition participation fee made by 6 March 2023
- Original documentation attesting to the disability and/or Specific Learning Disorder status declared at the time of registration for the competition
The admission tests for the single-cycle degree programme in Medicine and Surgery for the academic year 2023/24 will be held on 21 and 22 March 2023.
For candidates belonging to the quota of 50 places reserved for non-EU citizens living abroad (NON-EU quota), the computer-based admission test will be held remotely, as specified in the competition notice and in the convening notices sent to candidates by e-mail.
On the day of the test, candidates must produce at the time of identification:
- A valid identification document in accordance with art. 35 of Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28 December 2000
- A receipt proving payment of the competition participation fee made by 6 March 2023
- Original documentation attesting to the disability and/or Specific Learning Disorder status declared at the time of registration for the competition
All participants in the admission tests for the single-cycle degree programme in Medicine and Surgery of the "A. Gemelli" Faculty of Medicine and Surgery for the academic year 2023/2024 are informed that the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, in execution of Ministerial Decree no. 994 of 28 July 2023 on "Definition of the places available for access to single-cycle degree programmes in Medicine and Surgery a.y. 2023/2024 Italian language and English language" with its D.R. no. 10269 of 3 August 2023 corrected art. 1 of the competition notice and the republication of the same with the value of notification for legal purposes.
That said, the number of places reserved for non-EU citizens residing abroad (non-EU quota) for the academic year 2023/2024 is redefined as 70.
The number of places available for EU citizens residing anywhere and non-EU citizens residing in Italy (EU quota) remains unchanged, as defined in the call for applications (30 places).
Therefore, from 3 to 25 August 2023, candidates placed in positions 86 to 145 of the non-EU Medicine and Surgery ranking list for the academic year 2023/2024 are asked to express their non-binding interest in enrolment in the degree programme by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address international.admissions-rm@unicatt.it dedicated only to candidates holding a foreign qualification.
From 28 August 2023 , Università Cattolica, following the order of placement in the corresponding final ranking list (non-EU), will allocate vacancies by contacting only those who have expressed their interest in enrolment in the first year of the Medicine and Surgery Programme in the manner indicated in this notice and until the places available in the corresponding quota are filled.
For the academic year 2023/24, a public competition is announced for access to the first year of the integrated degree programme in Medicine and Surgery (class LM-41) fully delivered in English.
The places available for admission to the first year of Medicine and Surgery for a.y. 2023/24 are*:
- 30 places for EU candidates (EU citizens living anywhere and non-EU citizens living in Italy);
- 50 places for non-EU candidates (non-EU citizens living abroad). For candidates belonging to the quota of places reserved for non-EU citizens, the test will be held remotely.
In the event of dual nationality, one of which is Italian or of another EU country, it takes precedence over non-EU citizenship and the candidate must apply for the EU quota of places.

*The number of places on offer may be subject to change following the M.U.R. decrees programming the places available for enrolment for the academic year 2023/24.
The Entrance Exam, in English, is scheduled for 21 March 2023 in presence, in computer-based and multi-session mode, at test centres in Italy and abroad. The University reserves the right to activate additional sessions on 22 March 2023 should it become necessary due to the number of participants. Following the registration procedure, each candidate selects the venue (Italian or foreign) where he/she intends to take the test from the list proposed by the University and until availability for each venue is exhausted.
The test consists of 65 multiple-choice questions divided in:
- 2 of general knowledge
- 20 of logical reasoning
- 18 of biology
- 12 of chemistry
- 8 of physics and mathematics
- 5 of ethical-religious culture
The test lasts maximum 65 minutes. A maximum mark of 65 (sixty-five) points is allocated for the evaluation of the test according to the following criteria:
- 1 point for each correct answer
- minus 0.25 points for each wrong answer
- 0 points for each answer not given
The minimum score required to be eligible for the degree programme must be no less than 20 points out of 65. Those who are placed in the corresponding ranking list in order of places available are admitted to the programme.
To participate in the test, you must register and pay the participation fee no later than 6 March 2023. Late registrations or payments made after this deadline will not be accepted.

To participate in the test, you must register and pay the participation fee no later than 6 March 2023. Late registrations or payments made after this deadline will not be accepted.

Once the test participation fee has been paid, you can access the TEST Simulator platform free of charge via your online application.
The simulator can be used indefinitely by each registered candidate: it contains an archive of approximately 3,000 questions administered by the University in previous years and made available for purely practice purposes.
Questions administered on the day of the test are not extracted from the simulator.
