The Consulting and governance profile

The graduate degree in Consulting and governance aims to meet the training needs of a professional figure that is increasingly in demand in the economic world: that of the business consultant, in-house or self-employed.

The person in charge of the graduate degree profile is Claudio Frigeni, Full Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Economics and Law.

The cdegree programme offers:

  • an advanced preparation in the field of tax law, commercial law and accounting and auditing techniques;
  • an integrated view of methodological, scientific and professional knowledge related to the aforementioned areas;
  • the ability to apply the above knowledge in concrete cases.

The graduate degree profile in Consulting and governance attaches great importance to the international aspect of students' education and their future professional activity.

This attention to international profiles is manifested in several characterising aspects:

  • presence of a course specifically dedicated to the international profiles of tax law;
  • extensive use of international and English-language academic material:
  • possibility of extra-curricular internship abroad (e.g. at the European Commission and the IBFD) in Amsterdam;
  • possibility to carry out part of the research aimed at writing the dissertation at foreign universities or research centres.

The period of professional internship, provided for the profile in agreement, is an unmissable opportunity for professional integration at a level of excellence.

In recent years, students have been offered the opportunity to carry out professional internships at some of the most important professional firms in Italy, or at auditing and consulting firms, where they can anticipate the first six months of professional practice preparatory to taking the State Exam for the qualification to practice the profession of Chartered Accountant.

The enrichment of the degree programme through the internship experience, for the profile not in agreement, is essential for the acquisition of professional skills. Several multinationals and Made in Italy companies host the students of the Consulting and Governance profile every year.

In most cases, the students were confirmed at the end of the professional internship period, thus undertaking a collaboration that continued once the degree programme was completed.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

An agreement has been stipulated with the Order of Chartered Accountants, which allows interested students to access the profession of Chartered Accountant and that of Statutory Auditor, if the access requirements set by the same are met:

  1. receiving recognition of the period of internship carried out during the last academic year as a professional internship preparatory to taking the State Examination for the exercise of the profession;
  2. taking only two of the three written tests ordinarily required for this Examination.

A particularly innovative feature in the proposal of supplementary teaching services is the MyMentor! project, which allows each student to interact individually during a semester with a mentor (manager, consultant or entrepreneur), willing to guide him/her in understanding the dynamics of the world of work and in planning the first steps of the professional path.
