Membership of the UNIRE University Network

Università Cattolica is one of the universities that are members of the "UN. I.RE. – [University network against gender-based violence].

From Article 1 of the Establishing Declaration: Principles and purposes

UNIRE strives to support and coordinate the activities of the Participants, in compliance with the provisions of the Istanbul Convention. In particular, UNIRE is committed to combating and preventing violence against women. To this end, UNIRE aims to launch and support suitable initiatives to strengthen an increasingly broad and aware culture of equality, respect, non-violence and equal opportunities and gender identity.

UNIRE aims to contribute effectively, through the skills of the Participants, to the training and wider dissemination of this culture, with particular regard to the need to disseminate knowledge, methods and good practices, aimed at preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence, operating in particular in the following areas:

a) Education and training. b) Research. c) Cultural and awareness-raising activities.  d) Collaboration with national, European and international institutions. e) Collaborations with other bodies, such as civil society associations and professional associations.
